YouTube Kids app launched in the UK and Ireland

Google has announced that the popular YouTube Kids app is now available to mobile and tablet users in the UK and Ireland.
YouTube Kids was initially launched in the US and has been downloaded over 10 million times, receiving high praise from parents as one of the best apps for young viewers available.
Content for the UK kids app is split into four categories, labelled Shows, Music, Learning and Explore. YouTube Kids offers access to classic British children’s shows such as the Teletubbies, The Magic Roundabout and Postman Pat.
Children can also enjoy videos from their favourite YouTubers, including popular Minecraft gamer Stampylonghead, the British web star with over 6 million subscribers behind him.
“With a world of video in our pockets, there’s a world of possibility and knowledge at our fingertips.”
Understandably, parental control is a prominent feature of YouTube Kids, promoting a safe environment for young’ens to watch online videos. Parents can decide how much their child can search on the app, as well as set a timer to limit daily usage
